Building Legacies in the 24:1
Empowering Youth, Celebrating Black History
February is Black History Month, a time to reflect on the rich tapestry of African American contributions to our world. It’s also a time to look forward, to nurture the next generation of leaders and innovators. At The Legacy Center STL, we believe that every young person, regardless of background, deserves the opportunity to thrive. And this Black History Month, we’re celebrating our role in making that a reality.
The Legacy Center STL isn’t just a place; it’s an idea. An idea born from the vision of Dr. Terry Harris, Founder and CEO, who believes wholeheartedly that “you matter.” It’s an idea that every young person deserves access to opportunities – opportunities to learn, grow, and discover their full potential. And it’s an idea that’s brought to life every day within our 24:1 footprint.
We understand that access to enriching programs shouldn’t be limited by zip code or school district. That’s why The Legacy Center STL welcomes youth from across the St. Louis region, creating a vibrant and inclusive community where everyone belongs. Our joyful, no-cost program transforms after-school hours into a thrilling journey of discovery, empowerment, and fun.
This Black History Month, we recognize the importance of fostering a strong sense of community and empowering youth, particularly within the context of Black history and culture. The Legacy Center STL provides a platform for young people to connect with their heritage, explore their identities, and develop the skills they need to succeed. We believe that by investing in our youth, we’re investing in the future – a future where every voice is heard, and every dream is within reach.
We invite you to be part of our legacy. Join us in empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers by donating to our mission at www.legacystl.org.
